Sustainability Panel Discussion

SUSTAINABILITY AWARENESS

In 2015 for the first time the festival hosted a panel discussion on sustainable development in the luxury fashion industry with Marie Claire Deveaux Sustainability of Kering, the founder of Veja trainers, Guisi Bettoni from Italian Sustainable Materials Organisation CLASS, who announces a sustainable textiles initiative with Premiere Vision students workshop.

The International Textile and Fashion Conferences are hosted by the Federation Francaise de la Couture, du Pret a Porter et des Createurs de mode, with the support of DEFI- Comite Professionel de de l’habillement and in association with the Institut Francais de la Mode.

This year  the panel  who discussed International advancements in Sustainable Development included Carlo Capasa, President of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana,Sanchita Ajjampur, Creative Director of BeeLuxe  PVT, Alfonso Saibene Canepa, Supply Chain and Sustainability director Canepa, Axelle Tessandier, Founder and manager of AXL Agency and Marie-Claire Daveu, the Chief Sustainability Officer and Head of International Institutional Affairs. This 2nd year follow up got  more provocative and instigated reactions with students for our late night think tank session .

Axelles from Axl Agency has serious cool factor. She was one of our sustainability in fashion highlights of the weekend! Her poignant debate with Marie-Claire Daveu was absolutely thrilling and it’s thanks to people like her that this industry will move forward. She also has impeccable english after living for 6 six years in San Francisco!
