The architect Robert Mallet-Stevens created Villa Noailles, he was commissioned by the wealthy Charles and Marie-Laure de Noailles. The Villa was build in 1923 and it has a feel of modernity and Avant garde elegance. Designers and artists helped creating the villa with its daring style. Famous people such as Pablo Picasso, Jean Cocteau and Jean Cocteau stayed as guests in the Villa and today it is still an important meeting place for artists and designers.
Hyeres in the South of France was the Côte d’Azur’s first resort. It has a rich history of 2.400 years. While visiting the town you can see the archaeological site of Olbia, the original name of Hyeres founded the 4th century B.C by the Phocaeans. Later on Romans conquered the site and even later the town was the sight of a medieval abbey and 19th century palaces. Today you can still see all the traces from History while walking through Hyeres and its medieval narrow streets.
